Privacy Policy
Privacy Policy
Our caymanactive.com website is designed and maintained with the privacy of our members and visitors of paramount importance. This page sets out our privacy policy.
Cookies
In common with the vast majority of other interactive websites, we use “cookies” on this site. A cookie is a piece of data temporarily stored on your browsing device to help us improve your access to our site. For instance, when you login it is a cookie which identifies you as you move from one page to another, remembering that you are logged in. Without it, you would have to login to each and every page you visit in order to stay logged in.
Website Security
Wherever we collect sensitive information (such as credit card data), that information is encrypted and transmitted to us in a secure way. You can verify this by looking for a lock icon in the address bar and looking for “https” at the beginning of the address of all CaymanActive web pages.
We do not store payment card information on our own servers and payments are processed exclusively on the secure servers of our payment providers, PayPal (www.paypal.com) and Stripe (www.stripe.com).
CaymanActive Members and Member Profiles
To join as a CaymanActive member, you are required to complete a registration form. This form requires you to provide certain information such as your name and e-mail. This information is used to create your profile and allow ourselves and other members to contact you. Your email address is NEVER shown on the website, unless you or someone who knows it types it into a public post. If this happens we can remove it promptly on request. Your date of birth is, by default, visible only to the ‘friends’ that you make on the site, but you can change this at any time via your privacy settings. By default your profile page is viewable by all site visitors, but you can change this at any time via your privacy settings.
You will receive email notifications of site actions that are relevant to you. For example if somebody sends you a friend request. You can turn these notifications off at any time via your account settings. We will also use your email to send you the monthly CaymanActive newsletter if you have subscribed to it, and for any administrative reason that we may need to contact you.
Official Event Results
We publish official event results which will include your name if you participated and results were made available to us. If you are a CaymanActive member, your name may also be linked directly to your profile page. If you do not want your name to show in any officially published results, please contact us.
Event Registrations
We invite you to register for events, for example 5k runs, on behalf of the event organisers. The information you provide on these registration forms WILL be shared with the specific organiser of the event(s) you register for. They are responsible for how they use the data you provide them. We will clearly indicate on the event registration form who the event organiser is that will be receiving your data.
Your Personal Information
With the exception of the information you provide should you decide to register for a specific event which is shared with the event organiser(s) (see section above), we will never share, sell or rent the personal information that you entrust directly to us with anyone else. Please however do be aware of the privacy status of your profile page (by default, this is publicly viewable but you can adjust it via your privacy settings).
We respect and uphold your right to see what data we hold about you, and to promptly change or delete it where necessary. You can download information that we hold about you from the link provided when you edit your profile. You can also visit the “My Results” page to see where your name is listed amongst our pubished results. If you have any concern about access to, or use of, your data please contact us immediately.

Our website contains links to other sites. We are not responsible for the content or privacy practices of such other sites. We encourage you to be aware when you leave our site and to read the privacy statements of any other site that collects personally identifiable information.
